Playing for the Bandits was a really impactful experience for me growing up. The compete level on the team was always high, and everyone shared the same drive to win. The coaches pushed me to improve every practice, helping shape me not only as hockey player but as person on and off the ice. Overall, it was a competitive environment that built a strong winning mindset and set the standard for how I approach the game.

Being apart of the Bandits Program allowed me to build not only a foundation of hockey both on and off the ice but build long lasting friendships . I will always be grateful to Tim and Brad for giving me the opportunity to be creative on and off the ice and develop as a player.

We discovered the Bandits program in 2022, and it truly changed the trajectory of our kids’ hockey journey. Tim Preston had never seen our kids play before, yet he took a chance on them, and on us. That belief alone spoke volumes about the character and vision behind this program. We committed fully, traveling from Everett, Washington to Canada four to five days a week so our three boys could train with the Bandits. It was a big sacrifice, but one we never questioned. The practices are elite, the coaching is top-notch, and the expectations push players to grow not just as athletes, but as people. What sets this program apart is its focus on building exceptional individuals. Team building is intentional, off-ice workouts are structured and meaningful, and the monthly program-wide calls create unity, accountability, and purpose. The emphasis on giving back to the community reinforces values that go far beyond hockey. The Bandits program isn’t just about developing great players, it’s about developing confident, disciplined, and respectful young people. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity and proud to be part of a program that truly invests in the whole athlete.

Over the past four years, going on five, my son has had the privilege of being part of Tim Preston’s Bandits program, and I can confidently say it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for his development — both as a hockey player and as a young person. Tim truly pours his heart and soul into everything he does. What sets the Bandits apart from other programs in the HPL is the complete commitment to off-ice development, not just on-ice performance. From mindset and mental preparation, to nutrition, strength and conditioning, team bonding, and community involvement, Tim has built a program that develops well-rounded athletes and people. The emphasis on maturity, accountability, and character is something you simply don’t see in most programs. The Bandits environment pushes kids to grow not only as competitors, but as teammates, leaders, and young men. No other program we’ve experienced even comes close to the level of care, structure, and personal investment Tim provides. We are extremely grateful to be part of the Bandits family and highly recommend the program to any family looking for more than just hockey — but true development.

The Bandits program helped push me to the next level in an abundance of ways, whether that’s the early morning skill sessions or the constant battles week in and week out. Everyday I was encouraged to go just a little further beyond my comfort zone. All members of the staff I’ve worked with have helped me not only develop as an athlete and hockey player, but also as a member of society. - Dylan Hurren
