ON-ICE Training

To be an elite player you must follow an elite on ice development model. The Bandits on ice development

model is divided into two main components.

  • SKATING 

  • Puck Skills

  • Passing 

  • Shooting 

  • Positional Development

  • Competitiveness + grit 

 

These are the focus points to the individual

training and development model. 

Individual player development is the primary focus of the Bandits on ice programing. Developing the critical skills, at a young age is the foundation to your hockey journey.  Players require high quality reps in practice to develop to the fullest potentential.


INDIVIDUAL
PLAYER
DEVELOPMENT

Players must understand how to use individual skills in a team environment. Learning the foundation to team structure and strategies with progressive expectations each year. Knowing how to play a team game, is a reflection of past coaching and hockey IQ, this is a pivotal ingredient to continue to advancing to the next level.

The Bandits teach systematic hockey to play a 200 foot game with and without the puck in all situations.

OFF-ICE Training

The Bandits is exceptionally proud of our

complete athletic development model. Players

must be dedicated and put in the extra work away

from the rink if they want to be an elite player. 


WEEKLY
DRYLAND
TRAINING

Teams participate in a weekly dryland training sessions are held at Impact Training Center, located inside Langley Twin Rinks. The weekly off ice training is for all team except the youngest age group. 

Bandits Head strength coach Riley Murru develops and implements the strength and conditioning program. Riley understands the age of the athletes and  delivers are program that is age appropriate in a in a fun and safe environment. Trainers will ensure proper athletic technique.  Developing athletic tools off the ice will transfer onto the ice for increased speed, power, strength, explosiveness  and mobility.

Kids will build confidence off the ice that will translate onto the ice. 


WEEKLY
ONLINE
ZOOM TRAINING

Weekly online yoga practice. Lead by a certified yoga instructor, the players will develop flexibility, core stregth, plyobility and mobility. Athletes must learn the value of injury prevention training at a young age.

PHASE 1: 12 weeks  

Speed, power, quickness training with Manny Arceneaux. Manny is a former CFL and NFL wide receiver. He is a specialized speed coach based in Texas. Manny uses the zoom platform to create an at home workout targeting the tools to become faster and more explosive on the ice.

PHASE 2: 12 weeks  

The second part of the season the Bandits are introduced to online yoga and the importance of flexibility, plyobility, core strength and breath work. Complete athletic development must intergrade the tools to injury prevention and being more mobile. Players will do a weekly yoga class to complete our year round development model.

PHASE 3: 12 weeks  

Slider Board training with weekly training sessions to develop skating mechanics and coordination at the same time as targetting the key muscles used in skating.

Monthly zoom calls with sports psychologist Canon Pieper to teach the players and paretns the mental skills sets that become so important as the kids get older.

As athletes advance to higher levels of competition, the

physical talent gap narrows, making mental skills and

psychological resilience a key differentiator in who thrives,

adapts, and sustains success.

BANDITS AFFILIATE PLAYER PROGRAM 2026/27

The Bandits hockey club is excited to offer development positions on team rosters.

Development roster spots will be selected by coaching staff. This is based on players skill level and suitability into Bandits training program. As a development player, you will have the opportunity to train with the Bandit's players and coaches on and off the ice.

Development players are also viewed as prospects to the Bandits club and kept in close consideration for future roster selections. 

 

Development players can take part in the Bandits development model while’s playing for another team.
